A celebrated composer facing death, his working-class neighbour facing jail, and a sharp New York writer form an unlikely alliance over one charged weekend in Far North Queensland.

AN INDEPENDENT FILM SHOT IN FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND

Directed by James Ivor and Eryk Lenartowicz

STORM BIRD is an experimental film heavily inspired by French New Wave and John Cassavetes films FACES and WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE which makes the writing, acting and themes the centrepiece as opposed to genre or plot. As we wanted to delve into the psyche of authentic Australian characters, this style suited us best and we were able to naturally shuffle into themes such as anxiety about the future, parental suicide, alcoholism, religion and guilt.
